While CPAP is viewed as the gold standard in treatment of sleep disordered breathing conditions, there are other viable options as well. These alternative treatments may be prescribed for patients who meet the criteria for the therapy or for those who are CPAP intolerant.

In cases where sleep apnea is classified as mild or moderate, patients may be prescribed a device that adheres to the nares and uses the patients nasal expiratory pressure to build up the pressure in the airway and stabilize it. This improves the sleep related breathing disorder, as the increased pressure will support the airway, reducing the shallow or cessation of breathing caused by the airway collapsing during sleep.

Provent Therapy uses nasal EPAP (Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure), which has shown clinically effective and statistically significant improvement to AHI (apnea-hypopnea index) and wakefulness for a broad range of OSA(obsctructive sleep apnea) patients.

Provent Therapy for sleep apnea sufferers aims to end nights of wearing clunky devices in bed and allow for a quiet night’s sleep for both the patient and their partner.

Provent Sleep Apnea Therapy is a simple and effective treatment for OSA. Provent Therapy uses the power of your own breathing to create Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure (EPAP) to hold the airway open and enable natural airflow. If you have been diagnosed with OSA and have decided CPAP therapy is not for you, Provent Therapy just might be the answer.
